Sumario:PROA is having an anniversary! With the first issue published in 2009, the magazine reaches volume 9.1, and we feel an immense pleasure in sharing with the readers of this periodical the result of a decade of work. Like many other rites of passage, PROA's 10-year anniversary expresses the confluence of diverse intellectual trajectories and, inevitably, makes us think about the difficult path of academic journals organized by graduate students at Brazilian public universities. At a time when funding cuts for higher education paradoxically coexist with an above-average increase in scientific production in the humanities and social sciences, it seems extremely important to us to reflect on the role of researchers and universities in this type of work.
