Description
Summary:This article aims to document an experience about a school project entitled “Espaço Caiçara” held annually at the Sebastiana Muniz Paiva State School, Barra do Ribeira, Iguape/SP. It aims to disseminate the results of activities to enhance and continue the caiçara culture. The methodology used in the study, based on field research (Brandão, 2007), consists of surveying and compiling data collected in cultural experiences that are presented in the form of an exhibition at school and in the community. The cultural experiences, project actions, are carried out in traditional Caiçara communities and have a commission made up of managers, students, teachers, parents of students, local entities and employees who study and research Caiçara Culture through pre-prepared itineraries in the ATPCs, where the project is discussed collectively. The information collected in the communities is transformed into texts, photographic records, plays, teaching materials and is worked on according to the skills and competencies present in the São Paulo/BNCC curriculum. Normally, a “Caiçara Week” is held, which features caiçara coffee, a caiçara house, lectures, traditional communities, craft making, among others. At the end of the project there is an exhibition in the classrooms so that the community has access to the complete research content. The completion of the project is celebrated with the presence of different types of typical caiçara foods and graced by the fandango fashion.
