Description
Summary:This article investigates the consequences of the current national economic context on labor market in the state of Paraná, with attention to the deepening of the political-economic subordination of the country to international capital and the tendency to reprimarize the productive structure. From the contextualization of the integration of Parana in the national economy and the international market, indicators on the labor market of Parana in the last decade are analyzed, considering variations in time and comparisons with data from the Southern region and with national averages. The analysis of the distribution of the workforce by economic sector, occupation position, employment category, among other indicators, allows us to capture trends such as increasing rates of unemployment, labor underutilization, and informality, and the perpetuation of racial and gender inequalities in the state, even though, in general, Parana's data is better than the national averages.
