Description
Summary:This article develops about the creation process of the ethnographic film-me Cortadores de Pedra, made, as part of the master's research, in order to reflect on the possibilities of the moving image in the intangible heritage policy of Iphan. The film was made in partnership with stone extractors in Campos de São João, located in the Chapada Diamantina, BA. In this article I explain all the stages of creation, from its conception, the elaboration of the scenes, the relationship built with the interlocutors, the filming strategies, and the editing process. I discuss the methodology created for the construction of the film that uses moments of encounter as a tool for reflection and representation of the issues surrounding the craft of stone extraction. The ethnographic data dialogued with references from the field of visual anthropology are presented to the reader in order to elucidate the decisions that were taken to make this research into a film.
