| Summary: | Peace, Justice, Freedom and Glitter shows scenes from the first LGBT Parade that took place inside the male prison of São Joaquim de Bicas, in 2018. This institution houses, since 2009, the first LGBT wing of the prison system in Minas Gerais, where any inmate who chooses to sign a self-declaration in which he or she identifies as transvestite or homosexual is housed in an annex pavilion. The essay is linked to the course of a research that focuses on the dynamics of criminalization and incarceration of transvestites and transsexuals, having as one of its key places (LINS FRANÇA, 2010) this specific space of the prison unit. |
