Description
Summary:The painting Garotos da Ladeira [Boys of the Hilly Street] by Eliseu Visconti, originally presented as Os Desherdados [The Disinherited] in 1928, is contextualized from an iconographic point of view. Descendants of Tabajaras are represented on the street where the painter lived in Copacabana. Having placed entomological nets in the hands of the boys, the painter denounces the condition of social vulnerability to which they were exposed, since the controversial activity of manufacturing artifacts with butterfly wings was being structured in Rio de Janeiro.
