| Summary: | The article briefly presents a research project focused on the experience of Nature andthe pedagogical potential in Basic Education, specifically in the first and second cycles. Here we reflect on children's reduced contact with outdoor natural spaces and theirexploration, a situation that has been increasing sharply in Portugal, with some of thefactors that lead to the successive loss of this contact being mentioned. We seek tounderstand, based on international and national studies, the time spent in outdoorpedagogical activities, in which recreation appears as the main element of therelationship with the outside world; data on pedagogical activities carried out abroad;and the type of contacts with Nature. This research also brings together the study ofthree pedagogical projects, namely: “Outdoor School Day”, “Invisible Limits: Educationin Nature” and “Escola da Floresta Bloom” which address, in Portugal, bringingchildren with the natural space as essential for cognitive, motor and socialdevelopment. The aim is to understand the reasons behind the creation of theseprojects, what their objectives, programs and results are, evaluating potential uses orimprovements, within the laboratory scope of the research to be developed in theDoctorate in Artistic Education. |
