Description
Summary:Introduction: With the growing importance of digital resources in the democratization of scientific information and the vulnerabilities of these resources, it becomes crucial to ensure the preservation of scientific information in digital format. This will guarantee that cultural assets and testimonies of scientific memory are transmitted to future generations and that the processes of scientific knowledge production and innovation are preserved. Objective: This study aims to conduct a qualitative-quantitative bibliometric analysis of the international scientific production scenario regarding the digital preservation of scientific information, using Elsevier's Mendeley application. The study is exploratory and descriptive, aiming to understand the behavior of literature production in the last 10 years (from 2012 to 2022) regarding the digital preservation of scientific information. Methodology: Data were collected through the Mendeley application, where a total of 904 publications were retrieved. Based on the application of the Bibliometric Review Protocol, 94 publications were selected, which constituted the set of texts for analysis in the study. The analysis of these publications was based on five categories, using the following bibliometric indicators: scientific journal, publications, year of publication, searches/accesses, authorship, and content addressed. Results: The analysis revealed an increase in scientific production regarding the digital preservation of scientific information in the last five years, with a tendency to address emerging issues in this field, such as scientific repositories, data repositories, use of metadata, cloud services, data and information description and representation. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a need for further study on these topics, as well as the conduct of systematic literature reviews to deepen the specific discussions addressed by these studies.
