Description
Summary:Introduction: With the penetrability of technology in archival work, there was the need to use it to automate the technique, making it more fluid and faster. In this way, the document management processes that range from selection, organization to archiving, have undergone significant changes, not only in modus operandi, but also in the conception of what is a digital record , in its form, in its intrinsic and extrinsic nuances. Objective: The research aimed to present a bibliographic survey about the theories and technologies required for digital preservation in archival science. Methodology: This is a descriptive, qualitative research, which made use of bibliographic research and document analysis. Results: The information needed to introduce archival documents in the digital preservation environment was presented, as well as what should be observed to ensure that the archival document is in a reliable preservation environment, for long-term access. Conclusion: It is understood that digital preservation in archival science needs theories put into practice through methodologies and models, which should be applied to digital archival documents to ensure continued and reliable access to them. As well as, that there is no way to preserve digital documents without technological tools that subsidize their maintenance.
