Description
Summary:This article presents part of the conflicts lived by Babaçu coconut breakers who have been lived for several generations in the southern region of Piauí, an area of agribusiness expansion, known as MATOPIBA. Based on documentary reviews, the research methodology is qualitative, participant and collaborative dialogic, in addition to the production/analysis of the documentary “Filhas do Coco”. Considering the memories and the content of the breakers' narratives, the attempt to (de)territorialize the region in an attempt to implement the agribusiness installed in the region is made explicit through the adoption of policies structured by the Brazilian state as a way to support/strengthen the agrarian sector.
