Description
Summary:Between January and March 2020, a land conflict took place in the city of São Paulo between the Guarani communities of the Jaraguá Indigenous Land (TI) and Construtora Tenda S/A, which deforested land adjacent to the TI. In this work, I try to understand the event because of the various forms of land management over time from a decolonial perspective, centered on Aníbal Quijano’s concept of Coloniality of Power. To do this, I analyzed newspaper reports, catalogued by the ISA (Instituto Socioambiental), which refer to the Guarani of the Jaraguá, from the 1980s, to understand how the process of territorial encirclingof TI Jaraguá happened, which they put in risk the the guarani notion of “living well”.
