Description
Summary:The history of Brazil has seen the unfeasibility of autonomous family system of rural production. And the reproduction of poverty, underemployment and underdevelopment is closely linked to this. Among the particular circumstances that have marked (and still mark) Brazilian capitalist development, few have been as central and decisive as those that have systematically made family farming unviable. Our aim in this article is to expose these circumstances, which have made family farming economically unviable, and to analyze how this unviability has contributed to the reproduction of structural underemployment and, consequently, underdevelopment.
