| Summary: | The present work aims to investigate the socio-cultural and aesthetic aspects of the religious artifacts that are part of the altars present in the residences of Bairro do Horto, Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, through the ethnographic method. That is, through reports of the faithful, visual and audio records we study the worldview of the residents of that locality. The investigation came from the context of popular Catholicism present in the religious culture of the Region of Cariri, whose variations of the imagery forms and artifacts form a meaning, a ontology. As results, we identify some aspects that contribute to an understanding of the social organization of the pious population of Father Cicero. |
