Description
Summary:Different political education initiatives are needed to reverse the current scenario of disinformation, disengagement and discredit with politics that affects brazilian society in general and young people in particular. This article presents the Programa de Extensão em Educação Política (PROEEP), linked to the Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas (IFCH) at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), which through remote and on-site activities, by means of formative and playful actions, and focusing on young brazilians, promotes political education and establishes links between the university and society. The article presents the different forms of political education promoted by PROEEP, divided into extension activities, teaching practices and scientific research. The article qualifies the internal structure of the program, which can be appropriated by other extension initiatives, and presents the paradidactic materials developed by PROEEP to promote information on institutional policy, as well as the training actions internal and external to the university, which democratize academic knowledge about policy and strengthen the sense of citizen engagement.
