| Summary: | This article presents the characteristics of how bisexual activism and academic production have been developing in the Brazilian context, especially among young people, the Frente Bissexual Brasileira (FBB) and the Grupo Amazônida de Estudos sobre Bissexualidade (GAEBI), which became the Rede Brasileira de Estudos sobre Bissexualidade e Monodissidência (REBIM). Based on my dissertation research, the aim of the text is to discuss the contributions of activism and academia, which combine the objectives of bisexual individuals engaged in a struggle for visibility. Much of the research was conducted in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and consisted of ethnography, with participant observation and interviews based on digital media. We interacted with individuals and groups that create environments of bisexual visibility, in the collective construction of activism and academia around the production of bisexual identity in a political sense. Integration, acceptance, and the production and circulation of data are central demands in a field of LGBTQIAP+ rights and recognition that is constantly evolving. In this sense, activism and academia influence each other and have similar objectives as they are created in (and from) digital media, environments that enable the existence of what can be called a network of bisexual visibilities in Brazil. |
