Description
Summary:This study presents proposals for conflict resolution in rural settlements, based on theories applied to local development. A deductive investigation method was adopted, with data from bibliographical surveys and field experience. The successful rural settlements show alignment of the management model with the social types assisted. Conservative precepts were presented to fight over-exploitation of resources in projects with non-local individuals, while losses from underuse can be contained by clarifying property rights. In local communities, the principles of good governance are observed, with emphasis on the inclusion of externalities in the mediation of conflicts. The inconsistency of heterodox management in social groups devoid of identity ties was evident, which contrasts with what is observed in traditional families, as a rule, receptive to progressive models of development.
