Summary:The purpose of this article is to analyze the Assembly and the Public Act organized annually by the indigenous people Xukuru of Ororubá, which take place since 2001, in order to understand the political-ritual power of these events as a strategy for dialogue, confrontation and/or resistance with Brazilian State agencies and agents, with non-indigenous people and also in interactions with indigenous peoples of other ethnic groups, especially within the scope of the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples and Organizations of the Northeast Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo (APOINME), although not exclusively.
