| Summary: | The debate on “magical thinking” opened by the 2021 Censis Report and focused on the diffusion of irrational and unscientific themes does not see the additional dimension of irrationalism linked to capitalist naturalism and neopositivism. The emergence of these positions is the consequence of an organic crisis that dismantled the consolidated forms of expression of the dominant classes, determining a great transformation in the foundations of the capacity of the ruling groups to produce consensus. Only a new hegemony or a counter-hegemony, and not a simple operation of clarification, can counteract these impulses. However, the cultural as well as political defeat of progressive trends does not allow one to be optimistic. |
