Description
Summary:The article analyses the interests of the Brazilian and Argentine bourgeoisies in relation to Mercosur, seeking to identify the contours of regionalism and the role of imperialism. The article is divided in three periods: the 1990s, characterized by neoliberalism and open regionalism; the 2000s, with the “relaunch of the bloc” and multidimensional regionalism; and the years from 2011 to 2020 (especially after 2016 with the coup d’état in Brazil), which repositioned the project of open regionalism and passive subordination to imperialism.
