Summary:Introduction: In the Brazilian context, government institutions play an important role in managing digital records and data in administrative, legal, cultural, and scientific domains. Furthermore, digital preservation practices are essential in the information age, encompassing policies, strategies, and actions to ensure continuous and reliable access to digital content. However, achieving and maintaining an adequate level of maturity in digital preservation faces numerous challenges, from technological complexities to organizational constraints. This study examines the current state of digital preservation at the Tribunal de Justiça do Distrito Federal e Territórios (TJDFT), highlighting the progress made, the challenges encountered, and the lessons learned from implementing the Hipátia model to meet trusted repository standards. Objective: To evaluate the report generated during the implementation of the Hipátia model at the TJDFT and present the results achieved, aiming to enhance its data repository capabilities and maturity level. Methodology: The methodology employed in this study is bibliographic, exploratory, and descriptive, characterized as pure research. Results: The Tribunal de Justiça do Distrito Federal e Territórios (TJDFT) has reached the “optimal” level of capability, according to the Digital Preservation Capability Maturity Model (DPCMM). Conclusion: The TJDFT achieved the “optimal” level of capability according to the Digital Preservation Capability Maturity Model (DPCMM).
