| Summary: | This article aims to present how the concepts of power bloc, bourgeois fraction and particularly the concept of internal bourgeoisie, developed by Nicos Poulantzas, were used to analyze Brazilian politics by a group of authors who teach or who graduated from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). The set of theses developed by these authors over a long period of Brazilian political history constitutes what we call in this text Escola de Campinas, which is characterized by three elements: 1) the use, with rectifications and developments, of the theoretical tools presented by Poulantzas, specifically in Political power and social classes, a work published in France in 1968 and with Brazilian translations in 1977 and 2019; 2) the debate with some classic theses of Brazilian sociology and political science to understand the formation and dynamics of national capitalism, in which there is a refusal of the theoretical eclecticism present in theses by sociologists from the University of São Paulo, and also a counterpoint to some Marxist authors such as Caio Prado Jr., Ruy Mauro Marini and others; 3) carrying out empirical research, with strong analysis of documents and primary data. |
