| Summary: | This article aims to discuss hypotheses on the adherence of the middle class to Jair Bolsonaro’s candidacy and government, understood here as a neo-fascist political threat. To accomplish it, it identifies the origin of the process in the June 2013 demonstrations. Subsequently, it discusses the role of the Lava Jato Operation in the legitimation of methods of exception, which were presented as ways to support the meritocratic ideology. Finally, it indicates the strengthening of a liberal-conservative field, in defense of family and private property, which has allowed both broadening the social base of bolsonarismo and satisfy the neoliberal program of financial capital. |
