| Summary: | This article aims to analyze the theoretical and militant contributions of the queer Marxist tradition. I propose a debate on the possible links between queer theory and French materialist feminism, based on the recent reflections in queer studies. I emphasize the extent to which these reflections can nourish possible links between queer and materialist feminism in the French context. I also explore the political and theoretical encounter between subjection and exploitation. I try to show that queer Marxism thinks of the constitution of sexual and gender subjectivities as both a normalization regime and a regime of capitalist accumulation that is linked to a regime of institutional regulation. I try to show how the discussion about the Marxist concepts of reification/totality is a reflection on capitalist domination, thus specifying what is the regulation of sexual and gender subjectivities proper to neoliberalism. |
