Description
Summary:This paper offers an assessment in an important debate on Marx’s writings about colonialism. Many authors, including Marxists, interpret those texts as overtly historically deterministic, at least until a certain period of Marx’s intellectual activity (at least until the end of the 1850’s). Departing from his deep critic of philosophy of history elaborated during the 1840’s, we intend to reinterpret thosetexts about colonialism in a way that is sufficient to condemn the previously cited widely accepted interpretations.
