| Summary: | We suggest a reinterpretation of imperialism from critical review of both the theories about it and the Marx’s value theory. To this end, we studied Marxist theories about imperialism, from the classical phase to the contemporary one, and we noticed that its development follows a wavy pattern and each new theoretical wave emphasizes one or another aspect of the object. With a mediation of theories, we would argue that imperialism is a multifaceted aspect of reality, and even so, it projects several different images of itself. Regardless of the angle at which they are observed, it is possible to note the existence of an invisible, essential determination that remains even with the changes of form: the international transference of value. Through the dialectic relationship between essence and appearance, we try to show a new approach to interpret imperialism. |
