Description
Summary:Among other political consequences, the fall of the Wall of Berlin in 1989 threatened the continuity of the MEGA project – Marx Engels complete edition, in the German abbreviature – whose survival was due to a change of the editorial perspective, explained in this article. The responsibility for the work was taken by the Academy of Sciences of Berlin and thus received a more philological than a directly political character, being oriented by the goal of contributing to scientific research on the works and thought of Marx and Engels. The deriving advantages and the critique of the political perspective of previous editions are the object of the present text.
