Description
Summary:After examining the spatial dimension of the global economic crisis, the long term power shifts in the global economy and the formation of global inequalities, this article investigates regional strategies for coping with this crisis. In this direction, this article seeks to understand the stimuli for an economic and political emancipation by different areas of the world in relation to the West – above all in East Asia, India and in South America. The central thesis of the text is that this transition phase could be accompanied by a new map of global power.
