Description
Summary:Since the approval of the March declaration of 1958 by the direction of the PCB, the Brazilian communists adopted a new political orientation. The tactical objective of the party became the conquest of a nationalist and democratic government by way of theelectoral process and the pressure of the masses, excluding the armed alternative predicted previously in the documents of the PCB. In this article are presented and analyzed critically the difficulties of the party in the struggle for the accomplishment of these objectives, during the second half of the presidency of Juscelino Kubitscheck and the seven months during which Jânio Quadros was in power.
