Sumario:The digital transcription of documents has proven useful for students and information professionals, such as librarians, archivists and historians, impacting the preservation of historical information. This work proposes to present and explain good document transcription practices for the historical bibliographic field, based on pedagogical magazines published in the 19th century. It is characterized as descriptive and explanatory research, with a qualitative focus carried out through a bibliographical survey on the topic; survey of transcriptions of pedagogical magazines between 1900 and 1930 made at NEDHEL; description of the challenges that required additional efforts during transcription. NTTDEM standards were mapped to assist students and librarians during transcription, a positive impact on the preservation and dissemination of information.
