Na extraordinária personalidade e atividade de Lênin, existe um aspecto escassamente estudado mas que apresenta uma dimensão ao mesmo tempo teórica e pedagógica: a luta contra a “frase revolucionária”, altissonante e oca. Todo movimento que queira pensar e agir politicamente, sem “embalar-se nas palavras, nas declamações e nas exclamações”, deve desvencilhar-se dela e permanecer em constante vigilância contra ela. O problema se coloca de forma particularmente aguda para as classes populares que, por causa de sua subordinação social, não têm nenhuma experiência de gestão do poder e, ademais, não pretendem limitar-se a administrar o existente, mas aspiram a modificá-lo profundamente.
