Description
Summary:The demonumenta project, linked to the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAU-USP), proposes a discussion about coloniality associated with institutions, monuments and collections. One of the sections of the project, called IApiranga, uses artificial intelligence to intervene on the Museu Paulista's collection. In this article, we seek to analyze the IApiranga section based on the concepts of iconoclasm and iconoclash, placing it between the two. In this sense, the purpose of this work is to study the iconoclastic potential of the demonumenta project which, although essentially digital, proposes a deconstruction and problematization around cultural goods. We propose an analysis that combines theories around iconoclasm and digital history in order to understand the possible dialogues between the two areas.
