Este ensaio, objetiva esmiuçar o diálogo existente entre as Artes e o campo das Ciências Sociais, tomando por base de discussão o romance literário Riacho Doce de José Lins do Rego (2021), com o intuito de demonstrar como a sensibilidade do enredo oportuniza uma leitura aprofundada sobre as relações sociais que orientam os modos de ser e saber-fazer dos pescadores marítimos. Para aprofundar nossa interpretação da obra, utilizamos como base de apoio alguns conceitos mobilizados por pesquisadores do campo das Ciências Sociais, tendo por interesse aproximar seus fios de discussão.
