Description
Summary:This article aims to present a “state of knowledge” study, that is, an overview of academic productions related to black women working in federal education, their life trajectories and gender and race relations in the institutional environments of universities and federal institutes of education. Searches were carried out in the catalogs of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and in the Catalog of Dissertations and Theses of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). In this process, it was found that there is a large amount of research related to gender and race in various areas of knowledge permeating the theme, however, in the scope of federal education, the research was restricted to black female teachers, most of the places chosen for research were universities and the methodological procedures most used by the authors in research on this theme were of a qualitative approach. It is concluded that there is a need for research that focuses on female technical public servants of these institutions, from the perspective of race and gender, given that their work context and relationships differ from those of female teaching public servants, which is the focus of some of the research systematized here.
