| Summary: | Introduction: Digital preservation is crucial to ensure the longevity and accessibility of information in digital format in Brazil. Several institutions have developed policies to address the challenges of technological obsolescence and data vulnerability. Objective: This study analyzes the digital preservation policies of different Brazilian institutions, identifying common characteristics, challenges and trends. Methodology: 13 digital preservation policies of institutions such as universities, national archives, libraries and government agencies were analyzed. The analysis focused on common characteristics and challenges present in the policies. Results: The policies analyzed demonstrate a multidisciplinary approach, prioritizing data longevity and risk management. There is a focus on standardizing processes, including metadata management and format migration. Accessibility is also highlighted. However, challenges persist such as the lack of resources, the need for cultural changes in institutions, the lack of specific legislation, and the constant adaptation to new technologies. Future trends include the development of collaborative platforms, the use of artificial intelligence, and professional training. Conclusion: The study reveals a scenario of advances and challenges in Brazilian digital preservation. The implementation of effective policies and inter-institutional cooperation are crucial for safeguarding the country's digital memory, considering the continuous technological evolution and the need to ensure long-term accessibility. |
