| Summary: | This article investigates how the political dimension of artworks intensifies in dictatorial regimes or governments that restrict cultural and artistic practices. The oppression on the artist and individuals results in the political impregnation of art, standing out as a crucial aspect of tensions in artistic practices. This study analyzes how the politics of images acts as a subversive and resistance agent, circumventing censorship and conservative attacks. Four artistic productions will be examined in the Brazilian context, two contemporary (2015-2022) and two from the period of the Military Dictatorship (1964-1985). |
