Miembro del consejo internacional de Marxist Criticism, su artículo «Reification and Utopia in Mass Culture» apareció en el primer número de la revista en 1994. Escritor y profesor prolífico, seguía enseñando y escribiendo en el momento de su muerte. Profesor del Departamento de Literatura de la Universidad Duke de Carolina del Norte, su curso «Estética - de Kant a Barthes» estaba previsto para el otoño de 2024. Fredric Jameson faleceu em 22 de setembro de 2024 em sua casa em Connecticut, nos EUA, aos 90 anos de idade. Membro do conselho internacional de Crítica Marxista, seu artigo “Reificação e utopia na cultura de massa” apareceu já no primeiro número da revista, em 1994. Escritor e professor prolífico que era, continuava a lecionar e a escrever quando de sua morte.
