| Summary: | Introduction: Access to information in Brazil gained strength with Federal Law No. 12.527/2011, and at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), the Citizen Information Service (SIC) was set up in 2013. Its powers were expanded in 2016 and the university's transparency policy was formalized in 2022. Objective: The objective of this work is to analyze the evolution, achievements and challenges of the SIC-UNICAMP since its creation. Methodology: The methodology employed includes retrospective analysis based on institutional documentation. Results: The results show a significant evolution of the SIC, which began with just two employees, in a small space, carrying out a minimal set of activities, and now has a larger team, occupies the entirety of a building and has taken on new responsibilities, including managing portal content and providing services exclusively in digital format. The indicators also corroborate this evolution, as the number of calls grew from 139 in 2013 to 41,519 in 2023. Conclusion: The conclusion is that CAD Resolution A-004/2022, as an institutional transparency policy, consolidates SIC-UNICAMP as the body responsible for democratizing access to information, contributing to a more open and participatory university management. |
