Este artículo presenta algunos aspectos de los retratos fotográficos realizados por Alair Gomes (1921–1992) durante sus viajes a Europa en las décadas de 1960 y 1980. Inspirado en la tradición clásica del retrato, el fotógrafo construye, a través de imágenes de jóvenes en espacios públicos, escenas que articulan arte, deseo y vida cotidiana. Al recorrer las principales ciudades europeas, Alair Gomes se muestra como un flâneur sensible; sus fotos revelan una mirada erótica hacia el cuerpo masculino. La frontalidad y los gestos de los modelos sugieren colaboración y cierta complicidad, haciendo del retrato un medio de proximidad, fabulación y elaboración estética del afecto. Este artigo apresentará alguns aspectos dos retratos fotográficos feitos por Alair Gomes (1921-1992) durante viagens à Europa nas décadas de 1960 e 1980. Inspirado na tradição clássica do retrato, o fotógrafo constrói através de registros de jovens em espaços públicos, imagens que articulam arte, desejo e cotidiano. Ao transitar pelas principais cidades europeias, Alair Gomes se mostra um flâneur sensível, suas fotos revelam um olhar erótico voltado ao corpo masculino, a frontalidade nos retraos e os gestos dos modelos indicam colaboração e certa cumplicidade na relação com seus modelos, fazendo do retrato um meio de aproximação, fabulação e elaboração estética do afeto.
