| Summary: | This experience report aims to introduce the work developed in Creche Área de Saúde (CAS), by creating possibilities of action in which theory and practice go together in order to help children develop integrally. Therefore, we present a brief history of the origin of nursery centers in Brazil, which happened in the late nineteenth century, considering the changes in theoretical concepts by which these centers, as institutions dedicated to the care of small children, went through until being part of National Basic Education. This article also highlights some of the major current publications in Brazil that set the theoretical background for this practice in early childhood education. Finally, two narratives of experiences within CAS show a little of our conception and the experience we have in providing children with increasingly quality work. |
