O PEIS, desenvolvido em contexto do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Educação de Jovens e Adultos, da Faculdade de Educação e,desde 2015 em parceria de reforço com o GGBS, é uma dessas ações e consolida-se a cada semestre, trazendo para o ambiente acadêmico, jovens e adultos de regiões periféricas de Campinas e região. O programa articula uma rede significativa de comunicação que faz chegar a territórios que poderia passar ao longe da academia. A ação , ao contráio,dá consistência a diversas ações de teorias de educação e que ganham contornos de realidade, de vivência. Convivência geracional, inclusão digital e educacional, compreensão mais efetiva de um contexto desafiador no cenário das políticas públicas brasileiras. Um programa que, pelo alcance de dimensões absolutamente positivas, pode ser parâmetro para ações da Unicamp e também pode ser referência para as áreas de educação da Região Metropolitana de Campinas.
