Description
Summary:This research work, still a work in progress, aims to investigate the professional, pedagogic and artistic relationships involving the musicians' work, who play in technical dance classes. The research's focus is Unicamp's Body Arts Department, which currently hosts three musicians with degree in music and pedagogy. The theoretical fundamentals sustaining this work are, mainly, the work sociology, by Ricardo Antunes, and the artistic work, by Liliana Segnini; the reflections on the immaterial work by Antonio Negri and Maurizio Lazzarato; the reflexive sociology by Pierre Bordieu and Michel Burawoy and the philosophy of symbolical systems by Mickhail Makhtin and his circle of employees. The methodology used is based on the participant observation and the narrative interviews made with class musicians, students and Department's dance teachers. With this, the intention is to discuss the conditions of a work type that, at the first sight, could be considered as "creative", or even "educational", but which, from a more detailed observation, may prove to be involved in a passive and repetitive work logics, bringing it close, by the combination of submission and subalternity forces, and power asymmetry, to the more standardized works, less used to the creativity in the most generic way. The results obtained so far, even being partial, already provide some clear samples on the strong presence of this conflict between creation and stagnation, education and training, invention and repetition.
