| Summary: | This work's purpose is to reflect on the existing relationship between Social Service and Violence from their multiple expressions, present in various social-occupational spaces, especially Health. The violence presents itself as one of the biggest challenges to society, overeaching all classes, ages and ethnicities. The Violence Map, published in 2015, aimed to analyze deaths by firegun in 2012, concluding that 42,416 people were deceased in that year due to this type of violence, from which 59% were young people. These and other published data demonstrate a reality that demands from the professionals who act direct or indirectly with violence, the continuous reflection, update and broadening regarding the topic, so they can build a not restricted view of the fact, but the understanding on the network of existing relationships on the social and individual scope. The methodology chosen is a quanti-qualitative nature, from the use of bibliographic and document research. From the research performed, we concluded that researches related to this topic are very important, since the Social Worker constitutes nowadays as a prominent professional when it comes to the action before multiple violence expressions and that the reflection, discussion and understanding on the topic contribute to the search for new prevention proposals. |
