| Summary: | Making art enables both social reinsertion and personal experience. Exercising creativity enables the individual's mental and emotional process development, providing a wider view of world, making decisions in the most various life situations. The work's purpose was to improve the participants' quality of life, enabling them to find out their creative potential and apply them to solve problems, search new action alternatives and interpersonal activities, as well as in the personal, family and social life. In addition to that, the purpose was to provide individual self-knowledge and self-valuation through contact with art. The abstract painting workshops offered by GGBS (Social Benefit Managing Group) were developed in 02 meetings, being held every month at Centro Cultural Casa do Lago. The method took place through art workshops - abstract knife painting with activities developed in a group, which began in 2009 and until the present moment, approximately 700 people were served. The participants used 70 x 90 cm panels as support to create works. The materials employed were brushes, knives, acrylic dimensional in colors black and white and acrylic paint in primary colors, black and white. It was concluded that each participant, in the end of the process, found singular characteristics in the act of creating. On the canvas, we do not observe concrete and defined images, with the observer interpreting how to desire each one's creation. This positive action contributes effectively for the participants' Quality of Life. |
