Summary:This project was created from the interest by one of the Child and Complementary Education Division (Dedic) in learning more about avocado, fruit brought in by one students from her orchard. The children's curiosity about its seed, where it came from and about its flavor and texture was enormous, so they soon felt the need to research and explore the other fruits. The idea was to stimulate the healthy eating and the experimentation of new flavors, expanding the children's knowledge about the fruit universe. In addition to that, the food planting without the use of agrotoxins. Along the project, we expect children to feel free for try new flavors, incorporating them to their taste. Some of the experiences developed were: chats with the nutritionist, seasonal fruit tasting, avocado seed planting, strawberry and tomato seedling planting, preparation of recipes using fruits. As part of the experiences, a picnic was made, various fruits tasting, preparation of foods with fruits in the experimental kitchen, avocado seed planting and seedbed building with strawberries and tomatoes. The research work about the fruits, their textures, shapes, seeds, colors and flavors was so rich that children chose the name TURMA DAS FRUTAS [FRUIT CLASS] as the class identity.
