| Summary: | The report points out the importance of the interdisciplinary work, involving the expertise of various research groups. It was carried out between the Metabolic Unit/FCM and the Exercise Biochemistry Laboratory (LABEX), both at UNICAMP. The research actions were carried out with the Scientific Initiation Students, Master, and PhD post-graduation students, being able to develop projects in the following Research Lines: Chagas disease, Obesity and Diabetes, Elderly Person's Assessment/Profile, Inflammatory Markers, Biomarkers in the Sport. Method: The Stress Threshold technique was developed at Labex, enabling to prepare a training program compatible to the athletes' ability, outlining an adaptive profile for them and, finally, ensuring the performance success. Result: As research application, the Incentive Program to Unicamp/GGBS Athlete Employees was created, and now it has more than 40 athlete-employees. The program provides a practical learning to the students, using, for this purpose, the entire assessment infrastructure existing at Labex, but that would also benefit the street race athlete-employees. Initiated in 2000, each athlete-employee has an individualized training, planned by the Labex team. Conclusion: The positive results reached are numberless: the great athlete performance, not only in competitions, but also at work and the life quality improvement, observed in lipid profile analyses and other clinical analyses, is also a significant reason as a program result. |
