Summary:Since prehistoric times man has seen the need to form groups to develop jobs that individually was impossible. A working model begins, which consequently brings with it elements for the conflicts that are inherent to man and is present at all times. The relation in the work is a complex process due to the singularity and the affinity of each individual. The nurse in the exercise of his profession is faced with the conflicts of his team, often unprepared using techniques learned in practice. The objective of this study is to identify nursing management competencies and conflict prevention in the nursing team. The method used was the literature review from articles published in the last four years found in the literature and scientific database, using the descriptors: nursing, management of professional practice, group processes. The nurse management competencies identified were: assertive communication, leadership, creativity, group dynamics and conflict mediation. The literature points out that conflicts are inherent in the work process, and that these rather than being prevented must exist, so that when well managed, the team is beneficial in stimulating personal, collective, organizational, creativity and productivity transformations and developments
