Description
Summary:SEAAS (Support Nursing Service to Assistance) is located at the HC UNICAMP's 5th floor, with the purpose of transporting patients and laboratory examinations, to different sectors within the Hospital, at HC Complex, Campinas and region. The SEAAS carries out approximately 4,500 transportations per month. The team is made up by: One nurse, one secretary and 34 nursing technicians and/or assistants. The SEAAS' main purpose is to contribute for patients to carry out examinations for diagnosis clearing, surgeries and treatments, followed by nursing professionals, who are not directly linked to assistance, thus avoiding the Assistance employee's travel and providing the patient with the Nursing Assistance's continuity guarantee. The admission unit request the patient by phone to SEAAS. With this information, the employee appears to the patient's Unit and transport the patient to the destination requested. This patient's return is also carried out by SEAAS. The transportation of these patients occur in a dynamic way, in such way that SEAAS accounts about 4,500 transportations per month. I consider SEAAS as an essential service, since it directly contributes to assistance. The fact that the team is made up by technicians and nursing assistants provides more safety to the patient, since they are able to urgency service, in addition to basic notion for basic techniques and first aid development, if necessary.
