Summary:CECOM's Nutrition Team Activities in 2015 Introduction "Food and nutrition constitute basic requirements to promote and protect health, enabling the full affirmation of human development and growth potential, with life quality and citizenry. Food and nutrition are present in the recent Brazilian State legislation, highlighting Law 8,080, dated 09/19/1990 (Brazil, 1990), which understands food as a conditioning and determining health factor, and that food and nutrition actions must be performed in a transversal way to health actions, in complementary nature and with formulation, execution and assessment within health system's activities and responsibilities." http://bvsms.saude.gov.br/bvs/publicacoes/politica_nacional_alimentacao_nutricao.pdf CECOM, following this MS guideline, puts Nutrition as one of the foundations of health promotion and prevention programs it takes to the university community. Results CECOM's Nutrition Activities in 2015 • Individual Consultations – 1,412 consultations • Dietary Re-Education – 108 meetings • Unit Lectures within PSU – 3 lectures • Participation in Therapeutic CUIDE-SE [Take Care of Yourself] - 100 meetings • Participation in Motivational CUIDE-SE [Take Care of Yourself] – 21 meetings • Participation in the Diabetes Group - 6 meetings • Participation in Promotion and Prevention WG – 50 meetings Through these activities, jointly considered, 3,152 people were able to access information about healthy diet.
