| Summary: | The Social Service&";s professional practice in the Health field has, as some of its guiding principles, Integrality and Intersectoriality. Such principles are extremely important, once the profession is based on the whole social perspective and the understanding on social aspects that interfere on the health-disease process, searching strategies to face it. This work&";s purpose is to present information collected from the document analysis on social interviews with families of admitted patients and the number of countreferences to the network performed by the Social Service in the first half of 2016. The Social Worker acting at Hospital das Clínicas&"; Pediatrics Nursery seeks to identify situations involving social vulnerability, aiming to ensure protection and access to social rights and, through a social-educative approach, guide and refer patients and their relatives to programs, projects and benefits available on the social assistance network at the reference territory. Given the current scenario of social inequality due to the economic recession and, consequently, high unemployment rates, the significant increase of referrals to the network was observed, especially to the Social Assistance Policy services, to include new users in benefits, income transference and food safety programs, with 10 new cases being referred to inclusion in BPC and 24 scheduling to CRAS. Such benefits provide inclusion and support in social-economic vulnerability situations and reveals themselves as a citizenry promotion and socially produced wealth re-distribution mechanism. |
