Description
Summary:The internet, especially in Brazil, has quickly expanded. One of the fuels for the arrival of new users are the portable devices, such as smartphones and tablets. These devices, besides being more accessible than the traditional computers, also lean on mobile internet, which, in addition to being cheap, reaches any neighborhood, breaking the infrastructure barriers, since today there is no broadband internet in many outskirt neighborhoods. Therefore, which changes the virtual environment has suffered, with the introduction of these new players, where, as we know, most of them has a low income and are arriving in a territory previously accessible only for people with higher economic and social class? In this final paper, defended at IEL on December 2014, we will see that one of the problems is the linguistic discrimination, which occurs when a person is silenced, agressed or excluded, because one emitted a discourse different from the standard Portuguese rule. Through the interaction analysis in purchase websites, videos and social media, I will show that, even that internet eliminate many exclusion and distance borders existing in the real world, such as neighborhoods, in practice, the discourse remains as the main exclusion way, with the linguistic discrimination being even more evident in this environment, since, in the absence of other elements to characterize the person&";s social class, the focus is on the way one writes, and writing differently from the standard rule, this person is automatically excluded, once the linguistic discrimination is also a social discrimination.
